Plans
We have had a rather discouraging week here. I traveled again to Memphis on Monday to see if I could find out any more information since I never recieved my promised phone call regarding the status of my application. It turns out that supposedly my file has been sent from the US embassy in Nairobi to Memphis, but it was apparent to me that they would wait for the file to arrive for an undefined period of time. In other words, if the file were to get lost in the mail, it will be up to me to remind them again of my existence. That same day, we also found out from AIM that our support target will be increased by $400 / month. AIM's policy is that we need to be at 100% of this target with our support pledges before they release us to return to the field. Despite the discouraging news,we really feel like we need to make a plan and see how the Lord moves. We are planning now on setting a departure date for Feb. to give us a bit more time for the US immigration process to finish and to try to raise the remaining $600 / month. If my paperwork doesn't come through by then, we would plan to go ahead and leave and then I would have to return on my own for the oath ceremony at a later date. If we don't get out by February, we would have to wait until after the baby is born which would push our departure to the summer months. Thanks for your continued prayers for us as we seek the Lord's guidance in all of this.
