We made it!!!

Traveling across the world with 4 and 3/4 kids couldn't really have gone much smoother. There was no line when we checked in at the airport in NY with our 18 pieces, 2 bicycles, and one car seat. My parents, who drove down from Canada to stay with us at our mission headquarters, were able to come to the airport with us and help us get checked in. Our plane was on time and landed ahead of schedule in London. We did have a few long lines in London but with 3 plus hours, there was more than enough time and no burden of having to rush. Again the last plane was on time and arrived well ahead of schedule in Nairobi. Kolby slept for a good portion of the second flight and we received compliments on both flights from other passengers regarding the children's behavior. Perhaps the most amazing part is that all of our bags arrived and we had everything gathered and ready before our entire "greeting" party arrived at the airport!

After 3 or 4 nights of bouts with not being able to sleep in the middle of the night, we are finally on a normal schedule again. Morgan and Maddy both attended their first day back at West Nairobi School on Friday and really enjoyed it! Keegan has been best buddies with his old friend Titan (our German Shepherd) and Kolby has been getting aquainted with Titan as well after a few days of being timid.

We have pretty much unpacked all the suitcases but are still organizing the things that we had left here. It has been such a blessing to move back into the same house here in Nairobi and we are also very thankful for the great vehicle that we were able to purchase from a fellow missionary.

This week should be a bit more normal with the girls in school and being mostly unpacked. Abbie has an appointment with the doctor on Tuesday morning, so we look forward to getting reaquainted with Dr. Patel and to seeing if he will set a date for the C-section. I expect to start back at work by the end of the week and will have some catching up to do with procedural items as well as getting my Kenyan pilot license renewed.

Thanks again, to all of you who are making it possible for us to be here and for all your prayers. We really felt them over the last few weeks and months and praise the Lord for the smooth transition. We seem to have fairly reliable internet access here at the house now and would welcome emails or any other correspondence from you!

God bless,

Reini

Farewell !!!

The bags are just about packed and we plan to pull out in the morning! As you can imagine, we are already tired out and the journey hasn't even begun. That's how these things tend to go though.

We are scheduled to leave NY on the 18th and arrive in Nairobi on the evening of the 19th. Some of you will recall that on our first trip to Nairobi we got stuck in London for 3 days because of the British Airways strike! We are hoping for a smoother trip this time around but you never know!

We still are unsure about how quick we will be able to post an update upon our arrival but we will try our best to make that happen within a week or so.

Thanks for your continued prayers and support. We are so blessed to have all of you as a part of our team and we thank you for the ways you have encouraged and blessed us during our time here in the US.

Serving Him together,

Reini
